After lot of speculation about the beautiful emerald ring that was seen on Halle Berry’s finger, it is confirmed that Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry are engaged to marry French actor Olivier Martinez. What is even more interesting is this emerald engagement ring is a one-of-a-kind piece and cannot be replaced.
According to the design house that has created this exclusive gemstone ring, its emerald is perfect in color, its yellow-gold setting is hand forged, and instead of an inscription, it contains codes and symbols that only its wearer can understand. They went on to add that this bauble symbolizes the couple’s story.
For all those who are interested to know that ring’s 4-carat emerald comes from old closed-down mines in Muzo, Colombia. Also the balance between the blue and the yellow in the green in that stone is perfect making it unique and special.
Robert Mazlo of Paris, "a real artist" whose family has designed rings for kings and queens for centuries was the one who created this gemstone engagement ring. This jeweler has been known to Martinez and says that the design of the ring also incorporates two diamonds in a textured, yellow-gold setting forged according to ancient Phoenician tradition. And while it doesn’t have an inscription per se, it does have hidden meaning.
Speaking about this emerald ring Mazlo says that the ring is textured and contains codes and symbols which everyone cannot see while the person wearing it can and it’s very uncommon. The symbols and codes represent [the couple's] story and only they can interpret it.”
Though initial the jeweler who has known Martinez for several years had no clue that he was creating an engagement ring when the actor had initially contacted him. But his house has said that he was very touched to be involved in the couple's story.
Reports are that the jeweler gave Martinez a 500-year-old "mystical alchemy test" to figure out Berry's favorite shapes, colors, numbers and signs, which he then "decoded" and turned into a ring that cost somewhere in the tony neighborhood of "well into the five figures."
However as for the wedding it will soon take place as Berry wants to move to Olivier's native France with 3-year-old daughter Nahla but is still tussling with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry over custody. So, pair's aisle-walk plans are not yet finalized but source close to couple say that there is a good chance it would be in Paris. The ring with Symbols and codes and Phoenician traditions are all well and good, but it remains to be seen whether these two will actually make it to the altar.
